“I’m truly excited for you to experience this beautiful space firsthand,” says Allana, Urban Rest's interior styling and onboarding specialist. Since joining Urban Rest in May 2023, Allana has become one of the creative forces on our onboarding team, contributing to the beautiful interiors you see across our properties. Her expertise and vision have helped set the standard for our design, creating welcoming atmospheres that make our properties not just a place to stay but a place you won’t want to leave.

Taking a look at the stunning split-level two-bedroom apartment, Allana's enthusiasm is contagious. “We were fortunate to work with these amazing high ceilings and striking beams,” she says, pointing out that this design element set the stage for her vision. The result? A space that balances simplicity with elegance enhanced by the natural light in the room.
But it’s the attention to detail that truly brings these apartments to life. From the window fittings to furniture selections, Allana’s choice to incorporate dark timber accents throughout creates a consistency that complements the apartment’s structural elements.

“The goal was to infuse a coastal feel into the design,” Allana explains, and you can feel it the moment you step inside. Combining the wicker light fixtures with a soothing palette of neutral tones reflects a modern yet homely aesthetic that brings the relaxed vibes of the seaside to Double Bay.
This design approach is beautifully showcased in the sunrooms of the two-bedroom apartments, where the dining tables are positioned to catch the sunlight throughout the day. It's easy to imagine enjoying a sunny breakfast or an afternoon tea in these inviting spaces that welcome the joy of everyday moments.
Allana’s thoughtful use of space doesn’t just complement the apartment’s structure—it enhances it. Every element, from the placement of the furniture to the selection of materials, is carefully considered to create an atmosphere to remember.

The Art of Complementary Design
One of the standout features of The Henrietta Apartments is how existing architectural features are embraced through the interior styling. The dark metal staircase in the two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit beautifully embodies this approach. "The staircase added a bold touch, so we balanced it with dark timber finishes," Allana says. This design choice not only ties together the neutral tones and fixtures throughout the apartment, but also adds a modern twist without compromising the warm ambience.
This unit also features a charming fireplace that, with the high ceilings, could’ve easily been overlooked. But not on Allana’s watch. Her intentional choice of a perfectly placed couch creates a cosy little nook around the fire, making it the heart of the space. It’s warm, inviting, and still leaves the room feeling wonderfully open.
